Проблем с DMA

Като си включа DMA-то на DVD-то РС-то ми забива каде може да е причината?

Ако са на един кабел с харда, възможно е да си дават конфликт. Сложи ги на отделни IDE канали. Отделно от това, виж как ти разпознава дъното, DVD-то в биоса. Искам да кажа - не се мъчи да го пускаш на по-висок DMA отколкото поддържа или се разпознава от дъното.

На 2 кабела са, на първия е харда а на втория DVD & CD-RW, каде в биоса се разпознава DVD-то? В моя биос има инфо само за хардовете. DVD-то си го купувах 1999год. и при стартиране пише че е Mod 4 (каквото и да значи това) :-)

възможно е да не поддържа DMA access.

все пак в Device Manager, за Secondary IDE Channel, има настройка:



"Transfer Mode - DMA if Available" - това ако си с ХР

DVD playback performance may be poor if your DVD drive is set to run in Program Input/Output (PIO) mode instead of Direct Memory Access (DMA) mode. For example, in programs such as software DVD decoding, you may experience significant frame loss and/or audio or video synchronization problems.

CAUSE

Both PIO and DMA (also known as bus mastering) are modes of data transfer for ATAPI drives. However, PIO mode consumes more CPU time, and transfers data more slowly than DMA mode. Because of this, using PIO mode for DVD drives can adversely affect performance. Other factors that can also impact DVD playback performance include CPU speed, amount of memory, video adapter and video resolution, sound card drivers, software/hardware decoder that is used, CPU utilization, and the DVD viewing software that is used.

RESOLUTION

освен това може да не си си инсталирал драйвера за IDE - ака си с VIA чипсет - пусни "VIA 4in1", ако си с ALi - "ALi Bus IDE - "или нещо подобно" Driver".
