For this year, the calibration functions have been slightly extended by adding a third axis of the gamut regulation -luminance . Many experts have pushed the introduction of, among others this functionality and you can see that in 2018 our voices were finally heard. It does not introduce any kind of milestone, but it is another, small step, to better reproduce colors. And as we can see, in the above gallery, the calibrated image really lacks in relation to the reference! Shades of skin, greens, and light blues are very naturally rendered. Errors that even the calibration does not solve remain only in less important areas of color, such as strong reds. | Motion mapping | -- | -- | The refreshing of the organic matrix on a Philips TV set is 120Hz. This potential can be used using two classic functions, ie Perfect Natural Motion (PNM) and Clear Motion. Both functions have a limited action. The first one is responsible for the fluidity of film materials (24p), which are not too fluid in nature (even in the cinema you can see characteristic, film, jerks). By using the Perfect Natural Motion function, we can influence the degree of liquidity improvement. This function has four operating modes (off / minimum / intermediate / maximum). In OLED 973, I can get something that I like to call the golden mean, i.e. light interpolation of the movement, improving liquidity, but not to the extent that it is highly theatrical and full of artifacts. All you need to do is select the "minimum" mode. Of course, we can also get the perfect smoothness and sharpness, if someone prefers, choosing a higher setting. Clear Motion, and reduces image blur by doubling the frame rate (50 to 100, 60 to 120).
| -- | Philips PUS8303, as a well-functioning TV, befits, correctly displays and plays all input formats, from Blu-ray (24p), console (50p), or computer (60p). However, as everybody knows, each LCD TV without the inclusion of liquefier will be smudged with fast camera movements and will display jerky motion characteristic of Blu-ray movies. The tested TV has, of course, a liquidator. It is regulated by two sliders: Natural Motion

These sliders are available in the "Traffic" tab, when we choose the "Personal" mode. The remaining choices are predefined by the producer and we do not have to use them.

With the use of the Natural Motion function, we can do so that the films have perfect fluency (also called theatrical). Unfortunately, although this function has four operating modes (off / minimum / intermediate / maximum), in practice the minimum setting does not differ from the maximum. This could be a problem for people who like light liquidity rather than strong.
