RAINBOW AND PASSGO TEAM UP ON SECURE REMOTE ACCESS AND WEB SECURITY TECHNOLOGY
This technology agreement brings close integration of Rainbow's iKey and NetSwift product lines with PassGo's Webthority for secure Web access.
InfoSecurity, London, UK - April 23, 2002 - Rainbow eSecurity, a Rainbow Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: RNBO) company and a leading solutions provider of digital content and transaction security, together with PassGo Technologies, a leading access control software company, today announced a technology partnership to integrate Rainbow's iKey and NetSwift products and PassGo's Webthority™!.
PassGo's Webthority gives Web-based users secure access to distributed Web resources. It manages user identification, authorization and access control through the combination of a proxy server, authentication agents and a central management server. It employs existing user security databases with industry-standard authentication methods that include IBM Mainframe RACF, PassGo Defender™, PKI, LDAP, Oracle, Microsoft SQL and RSA ACE/Server. Webthority simplifies the management of access control through role-based authorization without the need for client-side software or Web plug-in extensions. Webthority can also provide Web-based single sign-on across multiple web sites.
Rainbow's iKey series provide a reliable and robust hardware security solution that is easy to use and administer. The recently announced iKey 3000 and existing iKey 2000 products are specifically designed for use in Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) environments where on-board cryptographic capabilities and uncompromised need for securing private signing keys is critical. The iKey 3000 complies to ITSEC E4 High requirements and the iKey 2032 is FIPS 140-1 Level 2 certified for high assurance security environments, by removing certificate storage and signing from vulnerable desktop systems and placing these functions in a token significantly reduces the risk of internal or external security attacks.
"As increasing numbers of enterprise organizations look to integrate strong authentication and PKI, the need for solutions that integrate existing and legacy applications become critical," said Graham Peat, European Marketing Manager, Rainbow eSecurity. "PassGo is an excellent company to work with and their rapid integration of our iKey products and NetSwift appliance with their Webthority product creates a class-leading solution for secure web access to a variety of applications and databases."
IDC recently recognized the iKey as the world's leading USB authentication token and anticipates the market for USB authentication tokens will grow from $6 million in 2000 to about $276.6 million by 2005.
"Our partnership with Rainbow allows us the opportunity to create some exceptional customer solutions" said Ed Blunt, VP of Customer Services and Sales at PassGo. "Rainbow’s PKI-based security solution complements our Web access software Webthority to give a robust, end-to-end solution for remote access and Web security management."
